摘要

Petty Officer Connie Terrell told Gas Market Reconnaissance that the Unified Area Command -- a group of federal, state and industry officials coordinating efforts to control the well and contain the spill -- has approved the burn. She added that it would be off the coast of Louisiana and the command "was making notifications to industry and government agencies." The Coast Guard estimates that roughly 3% of the slick could be targeted for burning.
