Mitsui & Co.'s Moex Offshore and Anadarko Petroleum -- both minority partners in the Macondo well -- have filed a suit against BP in federal court in New Orleans over economic losses from the project's failure and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill that followed.

In their suit, Moex and Anadarko have claimed BP broke its partnership agreement. The two companies also asked a federal judge to declare they aren't responsible for damages and cleanup costs resulting from the spill.
