In the afternoon, prices drifted to an intraday low of $3.841 amid light profit taking. Gas prices were supported by an outlook for below-normal temperatures in the Northeast and northern Midwest from Feb. 28 through the first few days of March, according to forecasts by David Melita of Melita Weather Associates.
