Chevron has sanctioned the $4 billion Big Foot development

The project will be the company's sixth operated facility in the deepwater Gulf. The tension-leg platform will be installed in about 4,800 feet of water about 220 miles south of New Orleans and will have a capacity to process 75,000 barrels of oil per day and 25 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. Chevron operates Big Foot with a 60% stake with its partners Statoil (27.5%) and Marubeni (12.5%).
