US October natural gas futures were unchanged as weather uncertainties for the near term kept the contract in check going into the three-day weekend that marks the end of summer. However, summer heat is expected to return starting Sep. 9 and last though mid-month in the heavily populated eastern US. But first, Hurricane Hermine, which made landfall in Florida Thursday night, is expected to skirt the East Coast, dampening demand.
