The suits, filed by six green groups in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, represent the first legal challenge to a deepwater drilling plan approval since last summer's accident at BP's Macondo well. The plan in question was the first to comply with the new Site-specific Environmental Assessment (SEA) implemented in August 2010.
