Moex Offshore 2007, one of BP's partners in the ill-fated Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico, has agreed to pay about $1.1 billion to BP to cover its part of the cleanup costs and other issues

An affiliate of Mitsui, Moex is a 10% stakeholder in the Macondo well with Anadarko Petroleum being the third partner in the project with a 25% stake. The money, according to BP, will be applied to the $20 billion trust it established to meet individual, business and government claims, as well as the cost of cleanup and restoration along the Gulf Coast.
