CNOOC begins China's first FLNG project

China National Offshore Corp. (CNOOC) has begun the construction of China's first floating LNG (FLNG) facility in the city of Tianjin. More precisely, the development will involve the construction of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).The groundbreaking project is set to cost approximately US$ 900.5 million and is designed to be able to manage 2.2 million t (or 3 billion m~3) of LNG per year. Other investors in the project include Tianjing Port and Tianjing Gas Group.
