Nymex January gas futures fell 3￠ to close at $4.18/MMBtu

Prices opened slightly higher today at $4.219 before rising to an intraday high of $4.254 during morning trading before profit taking emerged. As the day progressed, moderate selling in the OTC market led January gas to an intraday low of $4.126. Futures derived some of today’s weakness from warmer-than-normal weather slated for the central and southwestern US Dec. 10-14, according to EarthSat Energy Weather. Temperatures are likely to be normal in the Northeast and Great Lakes region during the period.
