New measures to limit Italian olive pathogen

Eight months on from the initial limitations on plant movement out of the Italian province of Lecce, imposed by the EC to try to contain an outbreak of xylella fastidiosa (Xf) in olive trees in the region, the Italian Ministry of Agriculture has unveiled its plans to address the situation, which is thought to now affect more than 74,000 acres of olive trees in the area.
