Roquette opens new plant for algal food

European food processing company Roquette is now running a new production unit at its site in Lestrem, France which will manufacture food ingredients from chlorel-la algae, in a closed bioreactor system. The unit is capable of supplying 4000-5000 tons of algae per year, which is transformed into Roquette's Algility range of products. This includes the lipid-rich Algility HL, which is algal flour, and Algility HP protein, as well as a chlorella whole food ingredient.
