Producers,importers,exporters,and consumers of the three major oilseeds and the four major vegetable oils

This article is concerned with the producers, importers, exporters, and consumers of the three major oilseeds and the four major vegetable oils using figures for the now-complete harvest year 2012/13 given in Table 1. The following discussion is in general terms with detailed figures in the Table. 14 countries/regions appear in the list in Table 1. These include the four major consuming areas (China, EU-27, India and USA) and ten others including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Ukraine. Exports come from major producers and particularly from those with small populations such as Argentina, Canada, Malaysia, and Ukraine.
