摘要

It is just over five months since the Great East Japan Earthquake caused death and devastation along the north-east coast of Japan's main island Honshu and triggered the world's worst nuclear crisis since the disaster at Chernobyl a quarter of a century ago. The clean-up operation continues, but many people remain in temporary shelter in the towns worst affected by the tsunami, which followed the magnitude-9 earthquake on March 11. At the Fukushima Oai-ichi plant, where the tsunami knocked out back-up systems designed to keep the reactors cool, technicians are still battling to stop radioactive leaks.
