Consumption data for copper wire & cable fell slightly Q1-Q3 by 0.5% overall. The largest fall was seen in communication cable consumption which fell by 12.9% y/y and the only sector which showed growth was energy cable at 2.4%. Copper wire & cable production also fell y/y by 1.1%, again with the largest fall being seen in the communication cable sector (-12.1%). The volume of copper wirerod used in wire & cable fell by 3.6% y/y in South Korea and fell by 4.9% y/y in Taiwan. It rose slightly in Japan however by 2.6%.
