The environmentally friendly element hydrogen has long been used for a great variety of industrial purposes. Since petroleum sources are dwindling, the phase of technical implementation is now setting in for the transport application as well, which will multiply the demand for hydrogen. Linde sees itself as a trailblazer and pacesetter leading the way to the hydrogen era. The company has comprehensive, unrivaled expertise throughout the entire value-added chain. That includes production, liquefaction, purification, storage, distribution and tank-filling. Getting the hydrogen economy underway requires not just technical developments, however, but also clear political responsibilities and reliable economic and regulatory parameters, in view of the social significance of the steps required to set course for a hydrogen future, Linde is calling for the formation of a coalition of responsibility.
