Peonies filled every nook and cranny when Elizabeth Donley's daughter, Kristin, got married last summer in Duluth. They crowded the church, filled the bride's and bridesmaids' bouquets, and decorated the Donley home for weeks after the ceremony. "Themore than 1,000 blooms at the wedding were a true tribute to the flower and our family," says Donley, a third-generation peony grower who tends nearly 250 bushes in her Chester Park yard and feels a deep, personal connection to the old-fashioned perennials. "It's an emotional thing for me. I very quickly can be overwhelmed with the beauty of these flowers."
