There you are, thinking about your vegetable garden, surrounded by seed displays and starter plants. It's all sotempting.But unless you have lots of hungry mouths to feed as well as acres of land and endless energy to devote to your edible garden, some hard choices must be made. As you decide what to grow, consider what you really should grow.Your eyes may be bigger than your garden. Case in point: During the first year of my serious kitchen garden, I planted lettuce, rows and rows of alternating red and green lettuce. Oh, they were pretty, in a kind of Beatrix Potter-book way. However, as the weather warmed, I realized I had several dozen heads of lettuce to eat, all at once.
