Kazakh terminal promises easier access to China

Kazakh firm Asia Gas plans to begin LPG shipments direct to China by tank containers this autumn, according to chief executive Ailey Suleymanov. The transportation of LPG via pure rail tanks, which run on Kazakh rail lines, is prohibited in China. But tank containers are different, as they can be used “intermodally” on trucks or rail - and, crucially, moved on different rail gauges using a different chassis.
