Americas butane and ethane

Ethane was priced at 54.250/USG - 53.6pc of propane - in the week to 16 October. Large gains in propane prices helped pull prices for other NGLs higher.The ethane market experienced only modest trading volumes during the first two weeks of October, when lower ethylene prices decreased demand for the feedstock.Butane prices surged in relatively illiquid trading throughout mid-October. Higher crude prices pushed prompt-month product as high as 1260/USG, around 67pc of the value of US crude benchmark WTI.
