Japanese town-gas sales rise

Japan’s town-gas sales increased by 7pc on the year to 3.7bn m~3 in March as lower temperatures boosted heating demand. Town-gas sales to the household sector totalled 1.2bn m~3 during the month, up by 2.7pc in comparison with the same month a year earlier, while shipments to the commercial sector increased by 3.5pc to 391.9mn m~3, data from the Japan Gas Association show.
