India's Mumbai-listed Varun Shipping, owner of 20 LPG carriers, has reported a leap in profits for the nine-months to 31 December 2007. The shipper said its earnings had jumped to 258.17 crore (65.6mn) for the final three-quarters of 2007, up from 108.73 crore during the same period in 2006. It attributed the gains to buoyant timecharter markets.
