Federal plan would require communications systems for all hazmat drivers

Hazardous materials haulers will be required to provide communications systems for their drivers under a tentative plan being developed by the Research and Special Programs Administration.According to RSPA Engineer Douglas Reeves during a meeting of the Transportation Research Board,the agency is studying rules that would require both a simple and "more elaborate" communications system.
