Court suspends D.C.hazmat ban at last minute

One day before its implementation,the U.S.Court of Appeals temporarily barred the District of Columbia government from enforcing its new law restricting hazardous materials shipments through the city.The law was scheduled to take effect April 20.Saying it needed more time to review the legal issues behind the case,the court ordered the ordinance's supporters to respond to CSX Transportation's appeal.
