LIMOUSIN IN CANADA

Thank you to Limousin World for inviting us to report back on the state of the Limousin breed in our country. The Canadian beef industry is experiencing some opportunities and challenges due to the low inventory of cattle and the record high grain prices. In spite of the obstacles, the number of active Limousin females remains stable, the bull sale season was successful and our breed association is thriving. The current Canadian Limousin Association is led by President Bill Campbell, Manitoba; Vice President Brian Lee, Ontario; Treasurer Terry Hepper, Saskatchewan; and directors Tim Andrew, Alberta; Lynn Combest, Alberta; Luc Forcier, Quebec; Jim Richmond, Alberta; Dale Turner, Saskatchewan; and Kelly Yorga, Saskatchewan.
