When Roy Davis got serious about wanting to feed out the calves from his South Devon cowherd, one of the first things he did was visit several feedyards. He inspected their facilities and talked with their managers and customers. "It was important forme to feel comfortable with the management and be sure they would be willing to communicate with me," says Davis. A retired businessman, Davis is trying to build a herd of top-quality cows on his ranch in Navasota, Texas.
