Multicenter study of comparative outcomes of hematopoietic stem cell transplant for peripheral T cell lymphoma and natural killer/T-cell lymphoma.

Prior studies have suggested high-dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell rescue as a plausible upfront treatment option for patients with peripheral T cell lymphoma (PTCL) and natural killer/T-cell (NK/T) lymphoma in order to improve the currently dismal prognosis [1-3]. Although several clinical trials have been performed which support the role of autologous [1-7] as well as allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) [8,9], there is still a paucity of data on the role HSCT for these diseases. We present here a report of HSCT for adults with PTCL and NK/T lymphomas in a multicenter study to determine the effectiveness of HSCT in patients with various PTCL subtypes as well as NK/T lymphoma.
