Contracts awarded for large scale ammonia-urea plant

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and Hal-dor Topsoe A/S has been selected for the design of a new ammonia plant for a major fertilizer project in Turkmenistan. The project has been awarded by State Concern Turkmenhimiya, a state-owned chemical company in Turkmenistan, and also includes project partners Mitsubishi Corporation and the Turkish construction company GAPInsaat. The fertilizer plant, to be built at Garabogaz on the Caspian Sea coast in the northwest of the country, is scheduled to go on-stream in June 2018. The plant will have a capacity of 2,000 t/d of ammonia and 3,500 t/d of urea.
