Prevention of mold powder entrapment is important to maintain high slab quality. For that, steel flow control in a caster mold is effective and NKK has realized this by utilizing the travelling magnetic field. With this technology, the steel flow in mold is optimized from start to end of casting. The features of this technology with travelling magnetic field are described below.
