Sources tell Energy Intelligence that Belarus is seeking a substantial increase in tariffs for shipping crude oil through its territory viathe Druzhba pipeline in 2024. The move will have the greatest impact on Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, which continue toimport a joint total of around 250,000 barrels per day of Russian crude oil via the southern leg of the pipeline. Germany and Poland ended their imports of Russian crude via the pipeline earlier this year. In 2021-before Moscow launched its waragainst Ukraine-they imported a joint average of around 480,000 b/d via the northern leg of Druzhba.
