The initial stage of gamma generation is considered in terms of the joint theory of gamma generation and radiation-heat regime of an active medium in gamma lasers. Width-path effects (WPE), which distinguish the interaction of single photons with single-mode resonant media, including the active medium of a gamma laser, from the interaction of a classical wave, are studied. Time function of the stimulated cross section growth is found. The advisability of introducing a new element, prolongator, into the gamma-laser construction is established. Possibility to observe the WPE with the use of nuclear gamma resonance (including use of synchrotron radiation) or optical lasers, prior to the creation of gamma-laser, is demonstrated.
