UFC manufacture for urea production

Formaldehyde in the form of UFC-85 is used as an additive in the manufacture of solid urea. Formaldehyde is synthesised from methanol which is normally purchased on the open market and is priced accordingly. In most cases, the quantity of UFC-85 that is required by any individual site is too small to justify investment in small scale methanol production and in a UFC-85 plant.
