BAGFAS to build new AN/CAN complex at Bandima

ThyssenKrupp Uhde has received a euro 140 million order from Bandirma Gubre Fabrikalar AS (BAGFAS) in Turkey, for the supply a new ammonium nitrate complex at Bandima. The new plant will be integrated into the company's existing facility on the southern coast of the Sea of Marmara, and is scheduled to start operation in early 2015. The new complex comprises a 1,195 t/d nitric acid plant with downstream granulated calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) fertilizer (2,000 t/d) and ammonium nitrate (AN) fertilizer (1,550 t/d) capacity. In a separate contract, ThyssenKrupp Uhde is also engineering and supplying a 20,000 tonne capacity storage tank facility for atmospheric ammonia.
