The controversial nutrient profiling model underpinning the UK's restrictions on TV advertising of food and drink to kids is to remain almost intact after an independent review panel declared it "scientifically robust and fit for its intended purpose". Large parts of the UK's food industry detest the model, which evaluates products to establish whether they should be deemed high in fat, salt and sugar, primarily because it uses a fixed reference portion of 100g.
