This paper presents in vitro investigations to compare three different wavelengths used for Laser-induced interstitial thermotherapy (LITT) (1064, 970, and 830 nm) on the basis of coagulation efficiency, maximum temperature, and maximum coagulation volume. The results led us to the conclusion that wave-lengths with a smaller penetration depth show a higher coagulation efficiency but a smaller maximum coagulation volume. [References: 8]
