Fifty-one collections of white clover [Trifolium repens] (43 accessions from Himachal Pradesh, India, and 8 accessions from the UK) were evaluated for 11 traits (plant height, mid leaflet, length of stolon branch, number of stolon branches, number of nodes/stolon branch, number of growing points, petiole length, number of florets per head, number of seeds per floret, number of seeds per head, peduncle length, and cyanogenesis), and categorized using metroglyph and index score analysis. The accessions were grouped into 8 clusters. Cluster ITJ was the largest (23.52% of the collections). The cumulative index score ranged from 12 (RRCP-L-51) to 27 (RRCP-L-12). Approximately 14% of the collections had the highest mean index score of 17. Cluster V had highest mean index score of 20.8. The white clover collections were highly variable. Based on the highest cumulative index score, 8 collections were identified. These collections possessed desirable traits and, hence, can be used for the genetic improvement of white clover..
