Chlorosis in Lentil. III. Preliminary Studies on Genetics of Iron-deficiency Chlorosis

The present study was conducted to determine the genetics of iron-deficiency chlorosis in lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.). Fifteen crosses each using one resistant and one susceptible parent and three crosses between both the susceptible parents were studied. Two flood Irrigations were applied for the expression of chlorosis. The F_1 resistant x susceptible were found resistant, whereas the F, susceptible x susceptible were susceptible. It was concluded that resistance to chlorosis was dominant whilesusceptibility was a recessive character.
