FOCUS ON TECK’S RED DOG OPERATION

This month’s Focus is an in-depth project analysis of Teck’s Red Dog operation in the US. The Red Dog zinc-lead mine, which is located in northwest Alaska, U.S.A. near Kotzebue, is the world’s second largest producer of zinc concentrate after Vedanta's Rampura Agucha mine in India. It lies 160km north of Kotzebue and 80km east of the Chukchi Sea. The mine and concentrator properties are leased from, and were developed under the terms of a development and operating agreement with NANA Regional Corporation, Inc. (NANA), a native Alaskan development corporation.
