Most key regions are seen picking up. Emerging market and developing economies, which have been the main driver of global growth and commodity demand in recent years, are seen gaining momentum, to 5.1% in 2014 from 4.5% in 2013. Nevertheless, some countries will fare better than others. Notable is a change in the outlook for India, which was particularly hard hit by the recent reversal of capital flows to emerging markets. The IMF has reduced its forecast for Indian economic expansion by 1.8 percentage points to 3.8% in 2013, and by 1.1 percentage points to 5.1% in 2014.
