A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of PGPR, S and three micronutrients viz. Mn, Zn and Mo on the contents of protin, carbohydrate and fat in lentil (Lens culinaris). Seeds treated along with PGPR and S, Zn, Mn and Mo soil applied at the time of sowing @ 60, 4, 0.5 and 0.1Kg/ha respectively, significantly increased protein content (26.96% in 2009 and 26.89% in 2008) in comparison of control. The application of PGPR + S + Mo + Mn + Zn resulted in higher fat (2.56% in 2009 and 2.50% in 2008) and carbohydrate content as against 1.64% and 1.49% also 54.03% in 2009 and 53.87% in 2008 as against 50.59% and 49.75% in control. Use of PGPR, S and micronutrients may thus be an effective approach for improving the dietary value of lentil by its increased protein, carbohydrates, and fat contents.
