摘要

A field experiment was conducted during the winter seasons in 1997-98 and 1998-99 in Bangladesh to investigate growth and dry matter partitioning of mung bean cv. Barimung-3 under different seed rates (20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 kg/ha). The tallest plants (56.36 and 54.15 cm in the first and second seasons, respectively) were obtained under a seed rate of 20 kg/ha, while the shortest ones (42.60 and 40.80 cm) were obtained under 45 kg/ha. A seeding rate of 20 kg/ha produced the maximum branch number/plant (3.34 and 3.10), pod number/plant (31.47 and 28.40), pod length (6.59 and 6.33 cm), seed number (10.27 and 9.79) and 1000-seed weight (31.28 and 30.42 g) during the first and second seasons, respectively. The maximum plant population during the first and second season was obtained under 45 kg/ha (51.33 and 48.67/m2, respectively). The highest seed yield (1382.00 and 1323.67 kg/ha in the first and second seasons, respectively) was obtained under a seed rate of 35 kg/ha. Maximum dry matter was accumulated during 63-48 days after emergence (DAE), and under 40 kg/ha seed rate (41.19% at 84 DAE)..
