摘要

Field experiments were conducted during the Summer seasons of 1995, 1999 and 2000 to study the yield response of eight cowpea varieties to irrigation schedules in summer rice fallows. Irrigation at 0.8 IW/CPE i.e., no stress situation resulted in higher yield (936 kg ha~(-1)) of cowpea and the variety Kanakamani recorded an yield of 963 kg ha~(-1) is the best variety suited to summer fallows of Kerala followed by GC- 3 (919 kg ha~(-1)) V-240 (867 kg ha~(-1)) and Krishnamani (863 kg ha~(-1)).
