With the zinc concentrate market facing shortfalls until 2016 with the closure of large operations—namely MMG’s 500kt Century andVedanta’s 215kt Lisheen—replacement supply is primarily in the form of brownfield expansions as opposed to greenfield projects. In thisinstance, projects such as Glencore’s 380kt McArthur River and Vedanta’s 685kt Rampura Agucha are forecast to reach their productioncapacities in 2016 and 2015, respectively.
