Glencore International has completed the acquisition of an 80.08% interest in Rosh Pinah Zinc Corporation, which operates the Rosh Pinah underground zinc/lead mine. The sale, which included Glencore's purchase of Exxaro Resources' 50.04% share in the Rosh Pinah facility, was part of Exxaro's plan to divest its zinc assets. In late June, Glencore received a signed Supreme Decree from the Bolivian Federal Government, nationalising the company's Colquiri mine, effective immediately. Glencore, in a company press release, has protested the action taken by the Government of Bolivia, and is currently seeking fair compensation.
