A pregnant heifer was referred for retarded growth associated with fever. A pyelonephritis was suspected. Subsequently the animal presented with an undulating fever and polyarthritis and the presence of an infectious foyer was envisaged but the locality of the lesion could not be ascertained until postmortem examination. There was a parietal endocarditis subsequent to foreign body reticuloperitonitis.
