Kicking off the second half of 2012, July was not a month of spectacular performances for the ugly sisters lead and zinc. Zinc prices in July were relatively flat, averaging $1,851/t (84 cents/lb) – slightly below the previous month’s average. Lead, on the other hand, exhibited more stable market dynamics; the average price in July was $1,876/t (85 cents/lb), scraping ahead of the June average by just over 1%.
