Zinc prices were relatively flat in February with closing LME spot prices increasing 3.5c/lb to 98.5c/lb over the month. Monthly average prices paint a very different picture though. The market exuberance at the start of the year inflated average January zinc spot prices such that monthly average prices in February were down 11% to 98c/lb. AME’s forecasts for zinc prices over 2010 and 2011 remain unchanged at 90c/lb. Lead price forecasts remain at 90c/lb for both 2010 and 2011.
