After a 6% gain in July, zinc prices moved ahead again in August up another 11% to average 93c/lb for the month. While this is positive, the month average price for August is still 14% below the level in April. For a second month running, zinc outperformed the base metals complex with the exception of lead which increased 13% in August to 94c/lb.
