The optional, patent-pending V-Change (VC) quick-change jaw system from Forkhardt (Troy, MI) permits top-jaw changeover in 5-10 sec in a manual mode, while conventional bolt-on jaw change methods take 5-10 min, according to the company. Also, the VC system can be integrated into an automatic jaw-change operation. This system reportedly does not degrade the 0.02-mm repeatability achieved by Forkhardt's QLC-series power chucks.
