Business meets execution - Paper manufacturer melds real-time execution, order fulfillment, with Honeywell solution on Microsoft platform

European papermaker Cartiere Burgo had one system for execution in its paper mills, and a second system for order fulfillment and other processes at the business level. Today it has a unified system from Honeywell Process Solutions running on a Microsoft platform to bring greater cohesion to its business. Cartiere Burgos customers had been asking for accurate delivery times for their orders, but the information just wasn't available. "We were using a legacy logistics management system and various mill management systems built by our in-house IT staff over the last 20 years," explains Lorenzo Anzola, IT manager, Cartiere Burgo. "The main drawback was these systems did not provide real-time production information from our mills. Replacing them was clearly an urgent need."
