Playing with Wildfire: PTC aims to be faster and smarter with the latest release of Pro/E Wildfire

PTC is extending its company philosophy - 'Simple, Powerful, Connected' - with the introduction of Wildfire 3. The aim is to allow engineers more time to design, rather than spending it learning the software, to provide faster and more powerful solutions, and to facilitate greater communication throughout the design chain. This is all very admirable as, before the advent of Wildfire, PTC's Pro/Engineer was not the easiest of packages to work with. The adoption of the three guiding principles has coincided with a reversal of the company's fortunes, and PTC now claims that it has more active installed seats than any other mid-range CAD software developers - especially when the ratio of industrial to educational seats are taken into account.
